We, the Wright Foundation, are dedicated to supporting the communities we love including the places we call home - Kauai (HI) Sammamish (WA) and the schools we attended - Upper Canada College (Toronto, ONT) , Queens University (Kingston, ONT) & Santa Clara University (Santa Clara, CA)

Our Team
We are a family of four with a diverse set of skills but a unifying belief in the value of helping others. Susan is a strategic thinker with a deep background in marketing strategy & research. She helps us structure our efforts to maximize results. Jennifer is a software engineer at Apple with a determined and empathetic character. Jennifer is great at helping us see the value of different non profit approaches and zeroing in on the ones that are the best fit. Chris is a software engineer at Google. Chris is great at thinking outside the box and helps keeps us focused on the big picture and moving quickly. Andrew is a long term entrepeneur with a career of building early stage businesses and helping fellow entrepeneurs. Andrew is good at setting and managing to a clear vision and getting things done quickly.
Our Motivation
We formed the Wright Foundation to help improve the communities we care deeply about. As we have progressed through life, we have come to realize that life is about love, love is about people and people are connected through communities. We have been extremely fortunate to have had the experience we have thus far and we owe a debt of gratitude to the communities that have welcomed and supported us along the way. We now have time, resource and passion to help improve these communities so that others may benefit as we have. As we embark on this new phase, we are discovering that this work is deepening our connection to our communities in ways that we didn't realize was possible. This realization is intensifying our passion and commitment.
Our Focus
We are currently focused on 3 areas to improve the communities we love. The first and primary area of focus is on youth education and development. Our youth is our future and the challenges parents face in getting them launched are unprecedented. The second area of focus is around female empowerment. We have come a long way in terms of the role women play in our society and the rights they have but there is still a lot of work to do. The final area of focus in on the environment and helping to support it such that it remains an integral part of what makes our communities so special.
Our Story
Susan was born in Switzerland and grew up in Toronto, Montreal and San Paolo, Brazil. Andrew was born and raised in Toronto. Susan and Andrew immigrated to the USA in 1994 to work for Microsoft. They spent their careers in high tech and are recently semi-retired. They spend their time between Sammamish, WA and Kauai, HI. Chris and Jennifer reside in the Bay Area where they are engaged as software engineers. We all love summer in Muskoka where the Wright family roots lie long and deep. We all love hard work and spend every extra minute we have in nature - skiing, running, surfing, hiking, paddling, sailing, hiking and golfing.

We are the Wright family. We are undertaking a bold new adventure to do what we can to improve communities we care deeply about. These communities include the places we have lived as well as the schools and camps we have attended. They are fundamental to who we are today and the relationships we have formed. Our goal is to do our part to help such that these communities continue to thrive for generations to come.
